Good Neighbor Wildlife Habitat Improvement
The Good Neighbor Wildlife Habitat Improvement Program is for the purpose of providing cost-share for habitat management projects on private lands. The focus of these activities is on the removal of invasive woody vegetation from grasslands and the restoration of woodlands and grasslands.
Applicants’ property must directly border district owned public access properties or be conservation easement properties held by the district.

Landowner Cash Match Required | 25% |
Allowable cost-share practices include:
- Prescribed burning
- Herbicide treatment
- Native grass/forb seed mixes
- Complete grassland renovation (i.e., seed, site prep, and seeding cost)
- Woody vegetation thinning/clearing (i.e., mechanical or hand treatments)
Program funds will be provided through reimbursement and payment will only be made once work is completed.
