Backyard Prairie Pollinator Program
Backyard Prairie Pollinator Program
The full allotment of seed has been distributed for the 2024 program.
Applications will no longer be accepted until the program opens back up in 2025.
The LPSNRD Backyard Prairie Pollinator Program is offered to all landowners in the district hoping to enhance native grass and forb diversity on their property. The program provides local-ecotype native seed at no-cost to the landowner! This program will help enhance pollinator habitat across the district. Participants will be responsible for site preparation, seeding, and maintenance of the plot.
Ideal sites for the seed would be in full sun with few or no trees (a few native shrubs are ok) and generally on the east, west, or south side of buildings.
Each household and property in the district is eligible for up to 1/4 acre of seed, and will be considered first-come-first-serve. Once the allotment of seed is distributed, the program will close for the year.
