Programs

LPSNRD has many programs to help district constituents protect and preserve our natural resources. They include a variety of objectives:

  • Ground Water programs to help landowners improve conservation and production on their farmland
  • Environmental education programs, so students understand the importance of our natural resources
  • Cost-sharing programs that help landowners pay for conservation improvements
  • Programs to keep special tracts of land in their natural state
  • Tree programs for individuals and community groups
  • Programs to help towns and individuals maintain a safe water supply
  • Cost-sharing with towns, villages, homeowner associations, etc. with planning, design and construction of NRD eligible projects

Each of Nebraska's 23 natural resource districts has a locally elected Board of Directors which creates and customizes programs and projects to best preserve and protect the natural resources in that district. As a result, programs may vary between districts.
